Olmstead and Rochester Parks with Cornell Cooperative Extension

Presented by Master Gardener, Bob Beabout, this talk will be an introduction to the life and accomplishments of Frederick Law Olmstead, a pioneer of the modern urban park. We will explore Olmstead’s early life, the history of urban parks, and the major projects of Olmstead’s firm such as Central Park and the Rochester (now Monroe County) park system.
