Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.
All proceeds from the event support the efforts and programs of The Guild of the Children’s Diabetes Foundation (CDF), whose mission is to improve the health and well-being of BDC patients living with type 1 diabetes and their families through education, support, advocacy, and research.
On race day, registration begins at 7:00 a.m. at the Barbara Davis Center for Diabetes on the CU Anschutz Medical Campus at 1775 Aurora Court, Aurora, Colorado, 80045. The 5K Run/Walk is a professionally timed race on a USATF-certified course that starts at 8:00 a.m. and culminates with a foam party at the finish line.
Kids between the ages of two and ten can also participate in the Kids Fun Run, zooming around the Kids Zone while loved ones cheer, high-five, and spray them with squirt guns. Children can play in bounce houses, mazes, and other fun outdoor activities within the Kids Zone starting at 8:00 a.m. The Kids Fun Run starts immediately after the 5K Awards Ceremony.
Registration for both the 5K and Fun Run includes breakfast bites, timing chip (5K only), race bib, and a Run for the Ring performance t-shirt. Those with type 1 diabetes will also have the option of receiving a special “I’m the 1” t-shirt, and all participants can decorate a back bib that says “Running for my 1” to honor their type 1 loved one! The awards ceremony will also recognize top individual runners, teams, and fundraisers.
Running not your thing? Our Sleep-In Registration allows you to donate to the cause without participating on event day, and includes a Run for the Ring performance t-shirt (mailed to the participant).
