Celebrate Kwanzaa: Nia

You are invited to learn about and celebrate the Kwanzaa principle Nia (Purpose); to make our collective vocation the building and developing of our community in order to restore our people to their traditional greatness.

This event will feature a performer and light refreshments.
The word "Kwanzaa" comes from the Swahili phrase "matunda ya kwanza," meaning "first fruits." Kwanzaa begins on December 26 and ends with a communal feast called the Karamu on January 1. Kwanzaa is a seven-day holiday that celebrates Family, Community and Culture. The seven days of Kwanzaa match the seven principles celebrated during the week.
