Celebrate Kwanzaa: UJAMAA

*The event has already taken place on this date: Tue, 12/29/2015
You are invited to learn about and celebrate the Kwanzaa principle Ujamaa (Cooperative Economics); to build and maintain our own stores, shops and other businesses and to profit from them together.

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

This event will feature a performer and light refreshments.

The word "Kwanzaa" comes from the Swahili phrase "matunda ya kwanza," meaning "first fruits." Kwanzaa begins on December 26 and ends with a communal feast called the Karamu on January 1. Kwanzaa is a seven-day holiday that celebrates Family, Community and Culture. The seven days of Kwanzaa match the seven principles celebrated during the week.
