Colorado Adventure Point

Colorado Adventure Point is a youth development program using experiential learning methodology to develop problem solving, critical thinking, and leadership skills. By combining adventure activities (rock climbing, archery, handicrafts) with academic topics (STEM, Sustainability) we create an positive and dynamic learning environment for youth of all ages.

Whether you are looking for state standard-backed programs or unique and tailored activities, one of our labs, classrooms or design centers is equipped with everything you need. We strive to create life-long learners through the modality of experiential education and positive growth. We prioritize inclusion and are open to everyone, always endeavoring to exceed the expectations of those we work with.

On July 12, 2018, in an early-afternoon ceremony, the Greater Colorado Council of the Boy Scouts of America (GCC), officially renamed Colorado Adventure Point in Lakewood, Colorado, to Donald E. Scott Colorado Adventure Point (CAP).

Mr. Scott, known as one of America’s top trial attorneys and a founding partner of Bartlit Beck Herman Palenchar & Scott LLP, was a philanthropic icon in the Denver community with a great passion for the GCC. As an Outstanding Eagle Scout, Mr. Scott provided more than 30 years of inspiration to countless youth, volunteer leaders, fellow board members, professionals, and all he met, encouraging them to do their personal best, to be prepared, and to help other people at all times.

CAP first opened its doors in 2015. It is a 20,000-square-foot Scouting and community adventure education facility designed to promote essential skills and a love of adventure. It includes a two-story rock-climbing wall, archery, and air rifle ranges, the Enger Family Technology lab, the Steven Shrader Culinary Lab, the Graebel Relocation Services Outdoor Adventure Zone, the Mark E. Honnen Leadership Development Center, and the Walter Imhoff Sustainability Lab.

CAP is open to many organizations and Scout groups such as schools, churches, daycare centers, youth advocacy groups, businesses, and the community at large. CAP also offers a STEM curriculum to educate students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics in an interdisciplinary and applied approach.

We offer a variety of adventure education classes.
