Drawing + Painting for Adults

For any adults that want to start a creative drawing and/or painting practice, be part of a supportive drawing group, and learn some basics.
This beginner class is for you if you:
- Have always wanted to draw or paint but didn’t know where to start or how to make the time
- Used to draw or paint years ago and feel rusty
- Need a supportive group to get you going
- Already do some drawing or painting, but want a safe and supportive group for community to help keep you going and share ideas and tips
Don’t overthink it! Come join us as you are. No judgment or experience necessary. We will make this easy and fun. I promise you, anyone can draw or paint, you just need to learn how to see with your "artist" eyes and be willing to practice!
The goal here is to learn some observation skills and how artists see, as well as find your style and things in your world that you are interested in portraying. We will go over best ways to use drawing and acrylic tools and techniques with room to explore any special supplies that interest you. Other media like watercolor or other materials we have in the studio is also an option to add to drawings, but techniques in this course will be focused on drawing and acrylic.
There will be simple prompts to encourage you to make creating a part of your weekly routine and have fun doing it! What you go home with is based on your goals and effort. Some people make it a goal to practice specific techniques while others have the goal of focusing their skills on a finished product. We will guide you to move forward with what you are ready for and what is most important to you.
All materials included except for a sketchbook. Bring a sketchbook. Any type or size is fine. Whatever you prefer. If you are not sure or want to purchase in the studio, we have 6"x9" with 70 pages good for dry or wet media for $5+tax.
If you have other favorite materials you like to use or have questions about, you are welcome to bring them.
