"A drawing is simply a line going for a walk." - Paul Klee This class is designed to give the beginning drawer the basic skills necessary to start their drawing journey. We will use a variety of black and white drawing mediums to describe line, shape, texture and light. Students will develop skills in composition, building sound proportion, perspective, value and form. In addition to observational drawing, students will explore expressive mark-making and experimental processes. Working from still-life arrangements, using photo references of landscapes, capturing volume in simple shapes, and even plein air drawings (weather dependent) will all be part of this Intro to Drawing class. The instructor will give demonstrations and brief lessons, with most of the class spent learning through hands-on experience. Come join our supportive studio community!
