Flamenco Vivo!

*The event has already taken place on this date: Wed, 07/20/2016
Flamenco Vivo will introduce students to the different palos (styles) of Flamenco as well as some of the accessories like castanets, manton (shawl) and abanico (fan). Before each piece they will give an explanation about the origins and history.

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

This FREE event is sponsored by the Lincoln Center Support League as part of their Children's Summer Series.

For the interaction program, they will teach students how to do jaleos, which are the words that are used during Flamenco. Afterwards they will ask a couple of groups of students to join them on stage to demonstrate palmas (clapping) and some of the steps to pull all of the moves together.

Join us Wednesdays at 10:30am outside on the Lincoln Center lawn June 15, 22 & 29 and July 13 & 20. Great for children all ages, this series features hour-long presentations of culture, comedy, music and dance. Bring blankets and sunscreen as shade is limited; those with blankets get priority lawn seating.
