Larimer County Drive-In Fireworks Show

*The event has already taken place on this date: Sat, 07/04/2020
In light of state and county public health orders, the City of Loveland, Colorado - Government is moving its Fourth of July fireworks display, a time-honored North Lake Park tradition, to The Ranch Events Complex for 2020. The fireworks show is the result of a partnership between the City of Loveland, City of Fort Collins - Government, Larimer County Government, the Larimer County Sheriff's Office, and The Ranch Events Complex.

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

This temporary location for 2020 has vast open areas, parking, security and gated access to help limit attendance and discourage crowds for the drive-in fireworks show. No food or vendors will be onsite, and viewers are asked to remain in or adjacent to their vehicles, except to visit restroom facilities that will be provided.

Larimer County Commissioner, Tom Donnelly said "Fireworks displays to celebrate the Fourth of July are a tradition that our community looks forward to year-round. Fortunately, the County has a beautiful facility in Loveland that allows the region to celebrate together and continue this great tradition."

Entry to the fireworks viewing at the Ranch is free and gates at the south entrance will open for vehicle entry at 7:30 p.m. With only 1,000 parking spaces available at the Ranch Events Complex, the City is working with property owners adjacent to the Ranch to serve as alternate viewing locations. Patrons are encouraged to visit the paved parking lots surrounding the Ranch first, as wait times for entry and exit will be significantly less. More information on the offsite viewing locations will be announced by the end of the week at www.cityofloveland.org/July42020.

The Fireworks show will start at approximately 9:15 p.m. and conclude around 9:35 p.m. While there will be no onsite entertainment or food as in previous years, patriotic music will be played on local radio station 96.1 KISS FM beginning at 8:30 p.m. to accompany the show and provide the full drive-in experience.

“This is a time of year when our city comes together to celebrate Independence Day and the amazing community where we live, work and play,” said Loveland City Manager Steve Adams. “We had the option to cancel altogether, knowing the risk of gatherings at North Lake Park and around Lake Loveland would be too great, but Larimer County and all partners worked hard to defray costs and identify a solution that is in compliance with all state and county health orders.”

“As a regionally accessible venue, The Ranch is perfectly positioned to open additional vehicle viewing sites to allow more participants to see the show while practicing social distancing safely,” Fort Collins City Manager Darin Atteberry noted. “Keeping the collective health and safety of our residents has remained our highest priority, and we have been working to plan a variety of alternative festivities. We are very excited to partner with Loveland and Larimer County to provide this additional opportunity for our communities to celebrate Independence Day safely.”
