Students explore traditional indigenous art forms from across the Americas as they create their own tools for their projects. Students make their own paint brushes, pigment paint, and cordage to build and paint a parfleche box or leather pouch, as well as hand sculpt stone buttons to personalize it. Students also learn from South American indigenous traditions of weaving or beading to create their own works of impressionist art.
