19th Annual "Get to Cleanin' - Remembering Memphis"

In conjunction with the 2025 theme “Make Real the Promises of Democracy”, join us for the 19th Annual Uncle Walt Beckert Memorial "Get to Cleanin'-Remembering Memphis" (marade Official MLK Service Project).

Group 1 Begin at Dr. MLK Monument - Clean City Park to York Street
Group 2 Last marchers - pick up Marade Route, York to Downtown
Group 3 Clean up Civic Center Park - after 1:00pm

NEW! Adopt -A-Block along the Marade route making "East Colfax, The Beautiful" a reality all year round.
WEAR COLORFUL CLOTHING SO YOU CAN BE SEEN BY MOTORISTS (and T-shirts representing your organization... signs for Walt Beckert, MLK)
PLEASE BRING
1) gloves
2) trash bags (Trying to be green - those plastic grocery store bags you get because you forgot your environmentally oriented cloth ones)
3) brooms
4) water bottle.
5) If it snows (like it did in 2007), bring shovels and we'll clear bus stops along the route.
