Throughout the month of February, feel the love during Butterfly Pavilion’s Romance is Wild, a celebration inviting guests to explore how invertebrates attract partners, communicate, and connect in the natural world. Designed around Valentine’s season, guests can stroll through the zoo, exploring dating profile-style displays inspired by modern apps, blending playful storytelling with real science to help guests see these often-overlooked animals in a new way.
Romance is Wild fills the month with interactive activities and themed experiences, including a chance to taste pollinator-friendly chocolate in the gift shop’s chocolate sampling. Another task asks guests to search the exhibits and find their secret admirer after receiving a love note from one of the animals. King of the Log, a hands-on game, gives guests an inside perspective into how animals compete for mates, food, and resources.
For those looking for extra romance, celebrate Valentine’s Weekend at Bugs and Brews. At this after-hours, adult-only event, grab two drinks of your choice coupled with tasty treats. Play interactive games featuring some of our most charming invertebrates, join mini-lectures, and escape into two hours of exhibit exploration. Don’t miss out on this blush-worthy night!
