Sheep to Shawl at the Littleton Museum
Have you ever wondered how your favorite wool sweater came into being? Join us at the Littleton Museum’s Sheep to Shawl on Saturday, May 3 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to see wool transformed from freshly shorn fleece into the woolen items we know and love.
Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.
Sheep’s fleece, though dirty at first, goes through a process that ends in the fabrication of warm and beautiful clothing that has been useful to people for centuries.
Come see the wool process in action through demonstrations of sheep shearing, as well as skirting, washing, dyeing, and more. Kids will love to experience the journey of wool as they go through the wool processing obstacle course.
No fee for admission. Fun for all ages.
